Regular readers will know that I enjoy cake decorating. From pirates, to minions to star wars, my boys like to keep me on my toes with their cake requests. Recently I received some goodies from cake angels that has made cake decorating so easy and I am really pleased with these cupcakes made in minutes.
The cakes themselves are just a standard cupcake recipe : 4oz self raising flour, 4oz caster sugar, 4oz butter and 2 eggs. Mix altogether and cook at 180C/350F/Gas 4 for 10-15 minutes. I made a mixture of normal cupcakes and smaller ones in petit fours cases (these cook much quicker)
For the sheep I used a smaller cake and covered with cake angels vanilla frosting. I then placed white cake angels marshmallows all over and then added the cake angels icing sheep head with an extra blob of frosting.
For the ducks I mixed some blue colouring into the frosting. I then added an icing duck and some white chocolate swirls from the cake angels chocoholics delight decoration pack.
I then used some of the other decorations to make some more spring time cakes. They were quick and easy and taste good too. A great idea for getting the children involved in baking too with results they will be pleased with.
