We are off to Butlins!

It seems like ages ago that I was jumping up and down in the garden as I had been picked as a Butlins Ambassador. Now our stay is imminent I am getting excited all over again. To be totally honest, Butlins would not have been a place I would have considered holidaying in before I started blogging. My opinions were (I hope) outdated and I just saw it as a Hi De Hi holiday camp. Having read reviews from other ambassadors, I was pretty sure it was something our family would enjoy.

So what are my expectations now? Well we have chosen to visit the Skegness resort. The reason for this is that it isn't far from my parents and they will be able to visit us for a day and experience Butlins themselves. We know and love Skegness and even though it is winter, we are planning to take the boys to the Seal Santuary and a walk or two along the beach.

In my eyes however, the thing I am looking forward to most is the entertainment for the children. Last Febuary half term was miserable. I spent most of the week indoors with 3 bored children. I am pretty sure this wont be the case this year. Live Mike the Knight and Scooby  Doo shows should keep the boys entertained. I am also hoping that big man will enjoy the humour of Dick and Dom.

Skegness also has a recently opened Splashworld which looks great fun. The boys love swimming and a mixture of slides and splash pools should keep them happy.

Middle man is very excited about the Faiground rides. He has seen the TV advert and is hoping they have a Helter Skelter (I'm not sure if  do at Skegness, but when we visited Ascot for a family day last year he was happy going on an aeroplane ride about 10 times.)

I am also pleased that when I have spoken to friends, anyone that has been there has spoken well of Butlins, with a resounding "the kids will love it there" comment. Let's face it, if the kids are happy then in turn so are the parents. So now it is time to pack our bags and head up North. I hope I am not disappointed and will be able to bring you some positive reviews soon.

Have you been to Butlins with your family? What are the things you love most? Did you go as a child and have such lovely memories that you want to go back?
