When you are the cake baker in your house you have to make your own birthday cakes! I wanted to make something simple that the boys would like and this chocolate pouring cake (sometimes they are called anti gravity cakes) was just the thing.
You will need:
Betty Crocker's Chocolate Fudge Frosting
2 Packets of Cadbury's Fingers
2 Packets of Caramel Nibbles
A cake pop stick
4oz butter
4oz self raising flour
4oz caster sugar
2 eggs
A couple of drops of caramel flavouring.
Start by baking your cake. Mix the butter, self raising flour, caster sugar, eggs and caramel flavouring together. I used a small 13cm diameter spring form cake tin. Put half the mixture in and bake at 180C until a skewer comes out clean and then repeat.
Once cooled the cake can be sandwiched together with frosting. Apply frosting to the sides and place chocolate fingers around the edge.

Add frosting to the top of the cake.
Put a cake pop stick through the cake and "glue" the caramel nibbles in place with frosting.

Add the nibbles around the top of the cake.

Tie a ribbon around the middle of the cake. Place the empty packet for caramel nibbles on top to give the pouring effect.

I have since tried this cake again with Minstrels and pleased to say it worked really well
