My Shelfie

I think I have proved that I am rubbish at taking selfies, so was pleased when Tots 100 and Victoria Plumb launched a competition to take a shelfie instead. At first I thought it was an odd task. Then I looked at my shelfie. Yes it is a little cluttered but I also realised that there are many memories sitting there.

On the top shelf sits a sleeping dragon bought for me from my parents when I headed off to university. I liked dragons and I used to like to sleep a lot. I say used to, but would quite like to now. Three small boys have other ideas though.

The middle shelf is my favourite. A moon candle bought for me years ago by one of my oldest friends. I have never been able to light this one. Then there is a picture of big man on our first trip to Disneyland Paris. We had such a brilliant time together as a family. The Russian doll is a recent birthday present from my Mum. When I visit her I have fun hiding her dolls around her house and she has decided she will get her own back when she visits here! Behind it is an Inuit style picture that big man made at school. I am unsure what it is a picture of but he is very proud of it.

The bottom shelf contains a photo of me and my husband when we were young and in love. Now we are just a bit older. I am not sure if the boys even realise it is us. Daddy has hair in it! The egg cup shouldn't really be there but little man put so much effort into decorating it over half term, it is still proudly on display.

So there you go. What may look like a few jumbled shelves actually has a lot more too it. I am unsure if it is classed as glamorous as that is the style I got in the Victoria Plumb Great British Home Quiz. I was likened to Joey Essex. I am not a fan of TOWIE but I have watched through the keyhole and he has a very nice house! Probably no Inuit pictures though. Well not as special as my one.
