Degustabox February Review and Tomato Tart Recipe

Degustabox February

This month's Degustabox was a good one. Slightly less random products that the January box, and with lots of tasty products. So what was in the box?

Ryvita Thins: They say "each bite is so tasty you won't know it's a healthier option" I say these are fine for dipping in homous. Both the Sweet Chilli and Cheddar and Black Cracked Pepper, tasted predominately of pepper.

English Provender Co Damson and Port Chutney. Fantastic. Great with cheese, or to dip the Ryvita thins in. Will definitely buy this again.

English Provender Co Redcurrant Sauce with Rosemary. I don't often buy lamb but it is on the shopping list this week after having a taste of this sauce.

Soreen toastie loaf: Not my cup of tea as I dislike dried fruit. The boys have been eating this at breakfast with no complaints

Soreen lunchbox treats. Little man was not a fan of these but middle man has had these in his lunchbox as a treat. I liked that they are individually wrapped.

Scheckters Organic Energy Drinks. I am not 100% convinced that these drinks gave me any get up and go, but they tasted nice.

Bahlsen Pick Up. Really nice biscuits are there is a large amount of chocolate in them.

Bahlsen Waffeletten. These are apparently good with your coffee. Personally I would stick them in an ice cream sundae.

Tyrell's Apple Crisps. Delicious apple crisps - Yummy!

Peppadew Piquante Peppers. Great to use in recipes like my tomato tart.

In addition there were some money off coupons for some of the products and recipe ideas.

Here is one of my favourite recipes, made a little hotter with the addition of the Pappadew Peppers from this months box.

Tomato and Peppadew Tart

Ingredients

Puff Pastry
Sundried Tomato Paste
Tomato Puree
2 red onions
Cherry tomatoes 650g
Peppadew Piquante Peppers
Creme Fraiche
Tomato and Chili Pesto

1. Chop the onions and 10 of the Piquante peppers and fry for a few minutes.

Add the cherry tomatoes, half a tube of tomato puree and 2 tablespoons of the sundried tomato paste.
Roll out the puff pastry and place the mixture on this, leaving a cm gap around the edges. Cook for around 20 mins at 200.

Mix 2 tablespoons of the tomato and chilli pesto with 4 tablespoons of creme fraiche to serve with the tart.

If you would like to try a Degustabox for yourself they have provided my readers with a discount code:HLPJU meaning you will be a £3 saving off of your first box. That means you will get a surprise box delivered for just £9.99

I Recieved the Degustabox for the purpose of this post but the opinions contained here are my own.
