I am also getting the boys involved in cooking as much as possible. Of course they are mainly interested in the baking side of things. My eldest was very pleased we got some plain flour this week so he could make these chocolate brownies.
This week we have decided that we will have a takeaway towards the end of the week when our food is running low. Any excuse for a curry! However, other things we have planned are:
Sausage pasta - I am hoping that there will be some left over sausages from our BBQ tonight and these will be perfect. Creme fraiche will be substituted with the double cream we have in.

Smoked salmon and avocado. One of my favourite lunches and made easier that Tesco had frozen avocado in stock this week.

The boys love a roast, and I think we will have roast beef at some point this week. probably with Yorkshire puddings Garlic. "lime" and chilli prawns - probably with pasta rather than ciabatta - although I think I have a garlic bread it would work with too. What have you got planned? Is meal planning helping you in the lockdown? |
It has been nice knowing what we are eating each week. The days and time are just all rolling into one at the moment!
ReplyDeleteOoh those prawns sound absolutely delicious!
ReplyDeleteHope you're keeping well x
ohh frozen avocado is it any good? my children are cooking so much now its amazing to see
ReplyDeleteIt isn't the same but as I add chili and lime to it, I think its absolutely fine
DeleteI find meal planning so much easier when I get an online shop rather than popping out to buy things. I've still not managed to get any flour. Ugh!
ReplyDeleteOhh! Enjoy your takeaway. It seems so long since we've had one.
I love the sound of the sausage pasta. x
Frozen avocado? I didn't even know that was a thing ! Does it work? Loving the sound of the garlic, chilli & lime prawns.
ReplyDeleteIt works if you are making guacamole or smashing it with chili and lime
