Disney Diary Day 3: Blizzard Beach

After the heat of yesterday we decided a fun day at blizzard beach was on the cards. We arrived for opening at 10 and found some loungers in the shade. The boys ran off immediately to the wave pool whilst I realised that I had forgotten my rash vest.

I had chosen Blizzard Beach as our first water park as the Facebook Groups I was following seemed to think it wasn’t quite as good as Typhoon Lagoon. As we planned on doing both I thought this would be the right way round to do them.

We gathered the boys together and decided to do some slides before it got to busy. We took the chairlift to the top of Mount Gushmore and did the family raft ride down. At the bottom of this ride is the Mickey rings that everyone has their photos with.

We then did the float playground. My only complaint is that adults don’t have one!

Some more racing slides which were fun. However, as we were just about to ride one, the heavens opened. Back to the loungers and all the towels were soaked!

It was all very bizarre. I was sat on a soaking wet sun lounger listening to “let it snow!”

I decided I may as well just go in the wave pool with the boys whilst the storm passed.

We ate lunch and then popped into the lazy river. I liked this except for the odd shower of freezing water and the fact that I managed to somehow get sun cream in my eyes and every time I touched them it got worse!

The big boys then decided to do slush n gusher. I like my husband to check these things out for me first! They went to take the chair lift but it was closed due to thunder storms in the area. They walked up and enjoyed the ride, just before the park was evacuated as the storm was getting closer.

We got changed went for a milkshake and as it wasn’t raining decided to go to mini golf. Just because it’s not raining does not mean that things will be open on Florida. Lightening was in the area and everything closed. We waited a while and all looked good. But then it all went wrong again. A new storm was too close and the man at the counter predicted an hour until they reopened. We gave up, went home and popped to Miller’s Ale house for tea. the doughnut holes were delicious.

Top tip: Sign up to the restaurants and you will get offers sent through. We had a chicken zinger starter that saved us 10 dollars.

We have decided that tomorrow we will activate our Universal tickets and I am likely to be like a muggle in Honeydukes.
