It is not often that I like, or am good at anything sporty. However, the other weekend we took the boys to the local FootGolf and I think I enjoyed it more than them! I had seen the signs posted for it on the road last year but hadn't really understood what it was all about. Even though the name does kind of explain it! Basically, you go around a golf course but instead of hitting a golf ball round, you kick a football.
There are courses all over the place, and if you are stuck for something to do with the kids over the holidays I would highly recommend it. OK I was strangely good at it so this might be why I enjoyed it so much!
Each whole has a par and you are given a score card. You kick the football from the platform towards the flag.
The only downside is that you can only play in teams of 4. As little man is a bit too small we took it in turns. He also came in very handy if a ball was kicked out of the area!
I really enjoyed it and shall certainly be going again. We did the 9 hole course and it took us around an hour. It was really busy on the Sunday that we went so I would recommend booking in. Also take a bottle of water with you, as middle man spent the last 4 holes complaining he was thirsty.
Have you tried FootGolf yet?
I have learned of a new sport! I think this could really catch on! I really struggle with the concentration needed for golf, this sounds much more my scene! Looks like you all enjoyed a super family game. Thank you for sharing on Country Kids.
ReplyDeleteI couldn't believe how many places there are to do it when I looked at the website. Think it has caught on and we've been fast asleep!
