Scary Stories & A Boy Who Is Very Sharp

In the last week I have been really noticing how much my boys are growing up. Little man is speaking more by the day. I still can't believe that middle man is starting school in September. Yesterday he had me laughing at bedtime announcing that

"I've told my teachers not to read me any more scary stories"

"Really?" I replied wondering what the current Early Years curriculum was now involving. Is there a Stephen King novel for 4 year olds? "What have they been reading you?"

"Jack and the Beanstalk and I just don't like it Mummy."

"Ok well you choose a story tonight then." So off he walked to his bookshelf and picked up Scary Town Ball!

Little man has also been wondering "When me go school?" Too soon in my opinion but I bet he can't wait until January when he will start pre school. "Oh gosh what will Mummy do with herself when you are all at school?" I said.

"Well probably blogging and eating chocolate and cake" piped up big man. Damn that kid, he knows me too well!

I'm not surprised, there's some quite scary children's stories, although I think my son says things are scary when he doesn't know what it means.
