Star Wars Trash Compacter Cake

star wars cake trash compactor scene

Three months after the arrival of big man, I decided to throw my husband a surprise birthday dinner party. I wanted to make him a star wars cake but there was one problem. I have never managed to stay awake through a whole episode of Star Wars! However, thanks to the wonder of you tube and a fabulous star wars fanatic friend, I came up with this cake. I'm afraid I can't tell you which film it is from! The best part was that his friends stopped singing Happy Birthday when they realised what it was and started discussing it! Now I have another problem. Big man wants a star wars cake for his birthday too! And no I still haven't managed to stay awake through a whole film yet!

Are you a star wars fan? If so any great easy cake ideas for me? Or are you like me and no matter how hard you try find the films as dull as dishwater? (Controversial statement there!)

  1. That's awesome :) I am a Star Wars geek and that's from Star Wars "a new hope"
A round cake is simple to turn into an R2D2 head with white icing and then lots of square, circle an rectangular ready to roll icing shapes :)

Thanks Emma will look into that. My only worry is I did Spider-Man this year and his face was too chubby! Big man has the DVD's for his birthday so maybe I'll be a converted Star Wars fan soon x

  3. Sorry, love the films! You could try an ewok for a cake! All you need is brown icing and cute eyes.

I'm with you on the whole 'dull' thing - have not managed an entire film either but my son also loves them! Have you got lego star wars? Those little people will come in very handy!

  9. What a fabulous cake Louise, that looks like it too some doing. Seriously impressed. Having made a balloon cake last year, I'd suggest buying one/getting a mould! Or what about selecting a character from star wars - like darth? Thank you for sharing #whatsthestory

Great cake! Perhaps a new cake in the shape of a light sabre?

Ha ha! I can't sleep anywhere, but my own bed, late at night. But I've fallen asleep during Star Wars on more than one occasion! I just don't get it! Good to know the men were impressed with the cake though!

  17. What about a Millenium Falcon cake? You know that if you'd like to borrow some Lego Star Wars figures you only need to ask! Although it might take me a while to find them as the boys have been playing with them and for some reason this involves taking them apart and spreading the pieces around the house... >:-(
