This is was happened with the climbing wall.
I looked at it, and thought it can't be that hard. Ok I am scared of heights but I'll shoot to the top as long as I don't look down.
Wrong.
Today I have learnt that it is hard work climbing up a wall! (I was probably wearing the wrong type of trainers!) Infact I barely made it half way up! I did then make the mistake of looking down and lost my footing. Big man did a good job for his first time too. Now I think I need to work on my arm muscles before I try it again. I did enjoy the bouncing down though!
So today's lesson has been that just because something looks easy, doesn't mean it is. But I can put climbing on my list of things I have now done. Next time with appropriate footwear, I will get to the top..... Or three quarters of the way up at least.

well done! that does look tough and hopefully the kids learnt an important lesson. My eldest would love a go on a climbing wall, but like you say I would also need to get my arm muscles strengthened up! x
ReplyDeleteI ache today!
ReplyDeleteWhat a good sport you are, and yes like you I seem to get roped into what our children want to attempt to. But well done for getting that far - I would imagine it requires quite a bit of upper body strength. Thanks for linking up and sharing your outdoor fun with Country Kids.
ReplyDeleteyou look like you are doing great!! Love the action shots!
ReplyDeleteI'm not so good with heights either and would approach with a little trepidation myself. You did a grand job as far as I'm concerned and I love the determination for wanting to go back! Kids are great at pushing us out of our comfort zone. Thankfully my wee man's dad does not hold the many fears that I do!
