I was busy writing a bucket list of things to do with my boys over the summer when I saw a tweet about Get Good Summer 2013. The idea is simple. A bucket list of 5 things you want to achieve over the summer. I am absolutely rubbish at getting things done without a goal, so here it goes.
1. Lose half a stone.
Last year I lost over a stone and a half. I was doing really well at maintaining it, and then I went on holiday! It was all inclusive and unfortunately I decided to get my moneys worth and ate my weight in ice cream. I think half a stone is achievable and will get me back on track.
2. Read a book
I am terrible at reading, but I would like to read more. I am an extremely slow reader so I will be realistic and set the challenge of just one book over the summer. I have gone for Are we nearly there yet? by Ben Hatch, in a hope that it will put me off doing a road trip with the boys in the near future.
3. Do some little DIY jobs
There are loads of half finished jobs around the house that need sorting. I am hoping that this will encourage me to do them!
4. Learn to make Mojito's
I know this isn't going to help with number 1 on my list, but I fell in love with them on our holiday this year and would love to make some at home.
5. Do some arts and crafts.
I have loads on unfinished projects and even more in my head. To start, I need to finish decoupaging my piggy band and then have a go at some sewing.
So that is my list for Get Good Summer - I will update you soon to let you know how I am getting on.
These sound like good goals!! Mojitos are delicious so I don't blame you for wanting to learn how to make them :)
ReplyDeleteThis is the one that I am most looking forward too - who knows I may even extend it to a whole variety of cocktails!
Deletegood luck Louise!!!
ReplyDeleteLove the ideas - a real good mix!! Some serious, some fun! Enjoy it! And don't forget to link back to #getgoodsummer next week to let us know how you're getting on!
ReplyDeleteHow did I forget making cocktails on my list?! I shall have to make a few additions I think
ReplyDeleteI think you should switch 1 and 4 around! Mojitos are divine but as I'm breastfeeding I'm not drinking spirits. I've got a couple of books on my iPad that I won't to read but it's so hard to find the time, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteoohhh yum, mojito's! I was searching hotels in Mexico at work the other day and there's one that does 36 different flavours of mojitos.. 36!! Hope you blog your recipe ;) x
ReplyDeleteI think this hotel needs to go on a long term bucket list!
